Description
Grass-green sprays of acicular Malachite crystals on typical matrix from the Friedrich iron mine. The green crystals display a strong luster with a high contrast on the blackish-brown matrix. Malachite specimens of this quality were rare and high-priced even during active mining, and today they command pretty hefty prices. A real Siegerland classic; the Friedrich Mine was worked intermittently from the early 19th century until 1953. The mine is located on a private property and access (and collecting) is prohibited.
