Description
A very good combination specimen of sharp four-sided Tetrahedrite crystals with Sphalerite and sprays of white, translucent prismatic Quartz crystals in between. The characteristic dark metallic luster, the grayish to black color of the Tetrahedrite is an allusion to the old German name "Fahlerz" (fahl = ash-colored and erz = ore). The Sphalerite is partially transparent, amber brown, the variety Cleiophane, which is the Fe and Mn deficient Sphalerite.
An excellent piece with lot of mineralogical history in one small cabinet specimen.
