Description
A mass of Hematite that resembles the famous "kidney ore" variety from Cumbria but it is from a German copper mine which was worked in the 1920s but has since been abandoned. The copper and iron-bearing Baryte veins in a volcanic host rock yielded excellent Hematite specimens, just like this one. Shiny black spherical aggregates of Hematite, with some sections oxidized to reddish brown Hematite. Another pretty good classic!
