Description
A fine and typically specimen of Fluorite from the classic Segen Gottes Mine near Schnellingen northern Haslach im Kinzigtal, Black Forest. This was one of the first mines I visited with some friends, now almost 35 years ago and still in those days it was hard to find good specimens due to the relatively small clefts and the tough and solid rock. Nowadays the mine is opened for visitors but not for collecting and good pieces like this one are still history. We see a 2,2 cm measuring cubed Fluorite crystal, nicely perched on a carpet of smaller "brothers". They are sharp edged, transparent, highly lustrous and showing beautiful beveled edges. Only minor edge wear on this fine and old piece.
