Description
Here we see a contrastful specimen of Rhodonite from the famous Broken Hill of Australia. Emplaced nicely on a matrix of massive Galena and Rhodonite is one single flat-lying, glassy and translucent, red Rhodonite crystal to 1,9 cm in length. Edge wear on the crystal is evident, however the dazzling colour and luster of these crystals far outweigh their faults. This is from the single large famous finds probably in the 1960s. Most crystals, such as these, were embedded in Galena and picked out carefully to expose the Rhodonite inside. This is a hefty, showy example of that famous classic find - now almost vanished from the market.
