Description
Here we have a fine combo of two rare phosphates, Hagendorfite as black masses and Zwieselite as brown veins in the massive Hagendorfite matrix. For Hagendorfite, the Hagendorf South Pegmatite near Pleystein is type locality. The Hagendorf deposit was initially exploited from an open cut, started in 1894 and operated until the 1920s. From 1928 to 1964, it was worked from several shafts. The mine was closed in 1984 and consequently such items, still rare in the past, are practically no more seen offered on the market.
