Description
Here you see an exquisite specimen of finely developed and slightly rounded crystals of native Copper. This specimen has 3-dimensional, relatively thick and indistinctively spinel-twinned crystals and a fine partly green patina. Great aesthetics, and much better in person. The area around this historic town was intermittently active from the late 1700s until the end of the 20th century. Redruth is the major town at the eastern end of what is generally termed the Camborne-Redruth mining district. Several significant mines lie within the town itself, most notably Pednandrea Mine and Wheal Sparnon. (mindat)
