Description

Franckeite, a rare Lead-Antimony Sulfosalt, commonly occurs as tabular crystal clusters intergrown in ore matrix. Free-standing crystals of Franckeite are rather rare. In this case, however, we have a whole coverage of steel-grey, free-standing Franckeite crystals with a beautiful metallic luster, partially scattered on matrix. They partially have excellent terminations, are sharp, and have clear grooves. A very outstanding example of a rare species, found in the early 1970s that has been in the collections of Richard A. Kosnar and Erberto Tealdi.
