Description

Here we have a typically granular Hematite bearing matrix with embedded brown and light yellowish-gray crystals and masses of SUPER-RARE species Defernite from the well known Kombat Mine of Grootfontein at Otjozondjupa Region, Namibia. Defernite was found at Kombat during a short term some decades ago and then never again. This rare species was named in honor of Jacques Deferne, Curator of Mineralogy, Museum of Natural History, Geneva, Switzerland. Such items are seldem seen for sale and consequently they are objects of desire.
