Description

This is super fine piece of so-called "Cleft-Augite" from the alpine locality Söllnkar of Krimmler Achental in Pinzgau, Austria. The Augite crystals here are superbly defined with excellent terminations and stunning luster. They are aesthetically associated with also almost superbly terminated, olive green and glassy, elongated Epidote crystals. Actually a common combination piece, but not in this quality and crystal size of the Augite (the major crystal measures 1,5 cm in diameter). A stunning and rather uncommon alpine item with very minor bruising,- among the best of species and locale we ever handled. Comes with a fine custom lucite base for display.
