Description
Gahnite is an uncommon member of the Gahnite-Spinel series and here we have several black and multifaced crystals to 0,5 cm richly embedded in matrix. They are sharp edged and highly lustrous. Despite that not all crystals are perfect, this is a very good and rare specimen from the classic Silberberg Mine of Bodenmais in Bavaria which was abandoned in 1962. Specimens from this locality are meanwhile completely disappeared from the market. This is a TOP LOCALITY PIECE
