Description
This is a great Zeolite specimen with brick-red, well-defined, Heulandite crystals up to 0.7 cm tall covering typical basaltic matrix. The monoclinic crystals are tapered to with a flat termination. These specimens from the volcanics of Glendowda Station in eastern New South Wales are reminiscent of the Fassa Valley in the Italian Dolomite Mountains ... just better.
