Description
This is a great Alpine-type specimen from Pakistan: Almost perfect, gemmy translucent, to 1.6 cm tall Fluorapatite crystals perched on a matrix of Calcite (typical cleavage on the back of the specimen) and Epidote (?). The translucent Apatite is olive green with a great vitreous luster. What makes this specimen stand out are the green colored fibrous needle-like Actinolite (variety: "Byssolite") inclusions in Apatite and Calcite. This piece needs to be backlit! Similar material has been recovered in 2016, however, I cannot claim that this specimen is part of the find.
