Description
This is a high-contrast and colorful Grossular specimen with deep raspberry red crystals up to 2 cm in/on matrix. Very rich and an absolute classic. Some of the Grossular crystals are complete, some aren’t. Grossular from this locality is known to fluoresce under long wave Ultraviolet light. In 2010, dealer/collector Rock Currier recorded a conversion with Californian mineral dealer George Burnham about the true locality of these specimens, which was not disclosed at the time. The property owner feared to be overrun by collectors, and Burnham who was the first one to bring this material to the market in the 1950s wanted to harvest the locality as long as possible.
