For me, this is by far the best thing in this running auction, despite not the most expensive. This old time Gadolinite-(Y) crystal is a real monster in size and comes from the type locality. The old label says Ytterby near Fahlun, but the well known Falun is a bit far away. Anyway, here we have a real large crystal of a rare species and exceedingly well defined and fresh in condition. It is sharp edged and lustrous as well. The pictures can not convey the quality of the specimen, but this is a KILLER PIECE ALL THE WAY and I have´t seen more than 2 adequate pieces over the decades. Don´t miss this opportunity to get hold of a rarity in such large crystals.
