Description

Water clear textbook Gypsum floater from the well known and meanwhile abandoned Dämmelwald clay pit at Wiesloch near Heidelberg. It is excellent defined with sharp edges and fine luster. Pristine all around of course. This feature was first observed on Gypsum crystals from Wiesloch in 1928 but is now known from many other localities with occurrences of Gypsum crystals in clay beds. The Dämmelwald clay pit is also listed as a Geotop of Baden-Württemberg (mindat)
