Description
Dyscarsite is a common species at silver mines such as the Wenzel Mine, which was exploited for just that commodity before it ran out of reserves and was turned into a visitor’s mine in 2001. However, a specimen such as this one, rich with well-developed Dyscrasite crystals is not common for the locality, which, by the way is the type locality for the species. Tiny acicular Safflorite crystals cover the metallic Dyscrasite with its dull metallic luster. A top specimen from a classic Black Forest locality with a long history of silver mining.
