Description
A slightly smoky Japan-law Quartz twin with excellent striations and impeccable vitreous luster. The specimen might not be totally perfect, but it is a rare US classic. The Japan-law twins from the Mina Tiro Estrella locality in Lincoln County, New Mexico are among the finest Japan-law twins of North America. Discovered and claimed in 1976, a big strike yielded some of the best-quality in 1978/79 and no more major discoveries have been made since. There is a pretty good chance that this great specimen is from this late 1970s find.
