Description
This is a very excellent Calcite specimen from the 1990s finds in the La Union mining district. The specimen is somewhat reminiscent of pieces from Egremont, UK, but the prism faces are almost completely missing. That generates the somewhat cubic to octahedral appearance. Great aesthetics, top luster, sharp edges, gemmy, a great 360° specimen with the largest crystal measuring 1.5cm in diameter. The La Union mining district east of the Spanish city of Cartagena was mined for Silver and Lead since Roman times.
