Description
The Getchell Mine in northern Nevada is known for its rare minerals such as: Getchellite (see out last auction). However, these spherical beige Barite crystal aggregates with a sharp crystal edges on the outer structure are less well known. This specimen, 4.2 cm wide, shows the spherical shape with the mud-coated Barite blades on the back, and the front with radial spray of translucent, anthracite with a touch of olive colored Barite crystals. Very interesting material indeed.
