Description
A beautiful specimen with very good contrast of sharp, black iron-rich Spahlerite with a metallic luster, typical sharp, metallic, brass-colored Arsenopyrite and white Clacite rhombohedrons from the Starí Trg Mine in Kosovo. This is the central mine of the Trepča complex, where mining is documented since the late Middle Ages. In modern history, in the 20th century, the mine was closed during the Kosovo war of 1998-99, when the two smelters were destroyed and the mine completely flooded. In 2005, the mine was reopened and has since been renamed Trepča Stan Terg (mine).
