Description

Water-clear Adamite crystals with a slight greenish hue densely pack a vug in a typical gossan matrix. The sparkling crystals are sharp with interesting three-sided crystals faces. Some of the smaller crystals seem yellowish-olive because of the color of the host rock shining through. A very good specimen in pristine condition from the Ojuela Mine which is considered by some as probably Mexico´s greatest mineral locality. It has been mined for Silver, Lead and Zinc, as well as Copper and Gold for 350 years since it was discovered by the Spanish in 1598. And did you know that Adamite is a classical fluorescent mineral since the discovery in 1946 of large esthetical fluorescent samples in the Ojuela Mine?
