Description
Despite the fact that this locality was basically in my backyard, I am not familiar with fluorite specimens with that color. I can just assume, that this specimen must be an old piece from the earlier mining period. A stack of light amber colored Fluorite cubes with sharp edges, and a silky luster. I attribute the minimal imperfection to the age of the specimen.
The Haus Baden Mine, a lead mine, was the most important mine in the Badenweiler region of the Black Forest. The Romans were already engaged in mining in the region. Fluorite from Badenweiler is rare anyway, and this color all the more so. Great specimen from a classic locality with a lot of history.
