Description

Glaucocerinite from the type locality! Isn´t that something? A cluster of spherical botryoids of mint green-blue Glaucocerinite on matrix. Specimens such as this one were rare even in Wolfgang´s heydays in Lavrion in the early 1990s. The host rock is a tough marble which does not make it easy to recover good specimens. Rumor has it that the locals had to resort to explosives to get Glaucocerinite specimens out. Whatever means it took to get this great specimen out of the mine it was worth it. It is a killer piece all around!
