Description
Quiruvilca is a Cu-Pb-Zn-Ag-Au mine high up in the Peruvian Andes mountains. It is known for excellent specimens of Orpiment, Enargite, Hutchinsonite, and Pyrite. And this is a specimen with Hutchinsonite on Orpiment from there. Hutchinsonite, a rare Thalium-lead-arsenic sulfosalt, is scattered in metallic black-gray lath-shaped aggregates and intergrown clusters on yolk yellow Orpiment. Dark brown Sphalerite and brass-colored Pyrite complete this combination typical for the locality.
