Description
This is a superb small cabinet sized specimen of Orange River Quartz from the Anka & Uli Bahmann collection, collected between 2000 and 2010, and probably among the best such collection to be build in the heyday here. This matrix specimen consists of a cluster of rather equant, GEMMY intergrown Quartz crystals to over 2,5 cm in length. The colour is incredible: The glassy crystals are included with an evenly saturated microscopic granular Hematite, giving the crystals a very rich and even burnt orange colour. The crystals here are so gemmy that these inclusions are easily to see as embedded sprinkles. Overall, dramatic, distinct, and almost pristine on the display face. Only minor bruising hard to see to the naked eye.
