Description
Ajoite is a very rare potassium, sodium, copper silicate, named after its discovery locality, the New Cornelia Mine, Ajo, Arizona. Pretty, lustrous, bluish-green, acicular Ajoite crystals richly cover this excellent small cab. This is a type locality specimen, and a very rich one at that. Although the crystals are individually micros, there is a huge and rich carpet of them upon matrix, on a dark vein of the same material. Ajoite was discovered in 1958 at this locality and this is a great piece in any case..
