Description
Here we have a superb ore specimen loaded with well formed and multifaced Sphalerite crystals. On this sparkling matrix is perched a huge aggregate of well formed and bladed metallic Semseyite crystals to over 1 cm in lenght. Semseyite is an uncommon lead, antimony sulfosalt, seldom found in well-formed crystal groups. This is an excellent, rich and attractive sample from the TYPE LOCALITY, the Herja Mine of Maramureș in Romania. This is a KILLER PIECE all the way and exceedingly hard to come by,- such a great quality was still rare in the heyday of this great mine from the 1960s - 1980s.
