Description
Here we have a fine and classic Chalcopyrite from Siegerland locale Friedrich-Wilhelm Mine of Biersdorf near Herdorf, defunct in 1965. Chalcopyrites from this classic area of Germany often have great brilliance and luster. The patina is remarkable, with the striated, metallic, brassy-gold crystals having flashes of red and purple that add to the dazzle. The largest of the crystals is 1,2 cm, and all crystals are slightly deformed and sharp edged. The complexity of the cluster exposes numerous faces and edges, which enhances the sparkling effect. Unusual and beautiful!
