Description
Here we have a fine and typical, old-time combination piece with multifaced, steel-gray, metallic Galena and dark brown, well striated and partly lucent, iron-bearing Sphalerite. Both species are well formed, sharp edged and there is only minor bruising on this otherwise very aesthetic and well crystallized lead-zinc ore specimen. The Lüderich Mine was abandoned at October 31, 1978 after 126 years of production. Consequently, good pieces as this one are meanwhile rare and desired.
