The Herja Mine Maramureș and it´s sulfide deposit have produced a variety of great combination specimens like this one, which is particularly fine for the Pyrrhotite from this locality. A superb cluster of several, well-defined, platy Pyrrhotite crystals is associated with tiny Calcite on this attractive combination specimen. The metallic bronze, hexagonal-shaped Pyrrhotites range in size from 1,7 to 2,6 cm across and upon close scrutiny they are all lamellar looking at their edges and resemble closely packed, very thin potato chips.
