Description
Here we see a great and almost pristine, deep blue specimen of Azurite from the Blue Grotto Prospect of La Sal, Utah. Utah is known for copper mining to be sure, but few enough mineral specimens come out. There are a lot of mediocre Azurites out there from La Sal but this is not one of them. What a stunning mini with a commanding presence. The piece is composed of countless Azurites up to 5 mm that sparkle from light coming in from any direction. The front of the piece consists of at least 95 percent Azurite with less Malachite bearing matrix. So far I can see, the display side is absolutely pristine with the still mentioned fine glimmer. A great piece! One of the better examples in this size range for luster and colour, crystal size, and overall aesthetics.
