Description
These remarkable Weloganites are best of species, and all came from a few small pockets at this quarry. I think most were collected in the 1970s probably by Don Doell and other locals. This nice specimen is a good miniature with a 1,7 cm cluster perched in a vug. These pseudo-hexagonal crystals have unique form, and look more like a biological growth of coral, than a crystal per se. According to Mindat.org: The quarry has been inactive since 1981 and will never be active again. It is in the central part of the city of Montreal.
