Description

Here we have an exceptional cabinet sized plate of elongated, raven-black Gaudefroyite accompanied by burnt orange, multifaced Andradite Garnet crystals. Gaudefroyite is an uncommon calcium-manganese borate and this fine piece comes from the N´Chwaning II Mine of Kalahari Manganese Fields. The Gaudefroyite crystals here are superbly developed, sharp edged and excellent terminated. A super specimen, still an oldtimer. Ex Dietrich Mayer collection.
