Description
Here we see two well defined Schwazite crystals from St. Gertraudi of Schwaz-Brixlegg in Tyrol. This are first-rate crystals of uncommon Mercurian Tetrahedrite, sometimes called Schwazite after the locality where this variety was first found. This excellent Tetrahedrites are modified dodecahedron about 2,1 cm across, with a pleasant and uniform iron-gray colour and good metallic luster. They are set on a matrix composed of Quartz, Baryte, and a sprinkling of smaller Schwazite "cousins". One of the better Schwazite specimens that I have seen from Austria. Only minor edge wear.
