Description
Actually you´ll find such Fadenquartzes out of any matrix as single aggregates, but this is a superb matrix piece from Tole of Waziristan in Pakistan. Fadenquartz is a term derived from a German word for "string," to indicate the bizarre formation of the elongated crystal which grew nucleated from a central line of growth ("string") which you can still see running through the middle. All of them are vertical, and all sort of look the same from this locality from a big find in the late 1990s. And this is an extraordinary piece of superb, tabular Fadenquartz crystals from Pakistan. The crystals are in excellent condition, and measuring 5,1 cm in size here. The pics are good, but the bright, gemmy aesthetics are even better in person. Matrix examples of Fadenquartz are very uncommon from this locality, and the piece displays much better than the typical clusters from here usually do.
