Description

Good Belgian Fluorite is very rare. Specimens almost never appear on the international mineral market because, once available; they are usually scooped up by local collectors. So I am pretty excited to be able to offer this superbly colorful, etched by Mother Nature(!!!) floater specimen with extremely high adamantine luster, superb translucency and captivating color, which ranges from a very delicate light green on one side to a strong purple on the opposite side of the piece. You can clearly see the dissolved crystal faces and crystals. Fluorite crystals from this limestone quarry are extremely rare, most Fluorite of this one-time find occurred massive, often etched lumps and not in an aesthetically crystallized mineral specimen such as this one. Pieces like this were found in the late 1970s and have never been found again since. An exceptional specimen formerly housed in the collection of the collector couple Nik Willems and Jos Mornie from Ghent, Belgium.
