Description

Here is another Tsumeb Mine Baryte specimen: Large chocolate-brown, tabular Baryte crystals measuring to almost 3 cm from the world-famous Copper-Lead-Zinc-Silver deposit in southern Africa. Certainly not a contender for "best of species" but an excellent and rare locality piece none the less. The specimen with well-defined and sharp crystals in little matrix is a great addition to any collection, especially since Baryte has always been rare and sought after from this famous locality. A relatively old, however, not entirely perfect, top Baryte specimen from the upper oxidation zones of the Namibian Tsumeb Mine.
