Description

A superb matrix piece of Kermesite from the well known and classic Globe and Phoenix Mine of Kwekwe, Midlands in Zimbabwe. Here we have a lustrous conical aggregate composed of well formed, beautiful acicular crystals,- as a wonderful radial spray with steel-gray colour and excellent metallic sheen. This is for sure the best Kermesite from this classic locale we ever handled and probably the best I have ever seen. This specimen is more than attractive, it is very aesthetic and compares favorably with the material what came out in the 1970s,- and is definitely incomparable with the admittedly aesthetic but very common stuff from China. This material was still rare and desired in those days, but nowadays it is way more rare on the market and exceedingly hard to obtain, especially in this superb quality.
