Description
This remarkably attractive specimen features beautiful, pale water-green colour Paravauxite crystals and some tiny, minor tan colour Sigloite crystals (not analyzed) associated on matrix. The reverse side of the specimen is slightly crystallized as well. The largest Paravauxite crystal measures up to 7 mm and they are all excellent formed, sharp and lustrous. This specimen is from the type locality for both Paravauxite and Sigloite. Mark Chance Bandy described Paravauxite crystals in his book "Mineralogy of Llallagua, Bolivia." He states that Paravauxite is the most abundant, but anyway rare, of all the "Vauxites" from this mine. This piece is a great example of the prismatic, sheaf-like parallel growths that Mr. Bandy described.
