Description
Gratonite is a very RARE species in crystallized form, a lead arsenic sulfide. It is known at its absolute best from this remote locality, and from finds prior to 1950 in general. This piece features sharp, elongated crystals to 5 mm leaping out from an ore matrix. It is aesthetic and richly crystallized. They are almost superbly terminated and they have a fine metallic sheen. Gratonite is hard to obtain these days, and one of the most desirable of rare sulfides in my opinion for its beauty and crystal habit. And this is by far the best we ever handled.
