Description

This is a first-class combination piece from Morro Velho, the oldest continuously producing gold mine in the world, which began operations in 1725. The flattened rhombuses of the Siderite are almost disc-shaped and the crystals are gem-like, lustrous and gold-olive in color. The Siderites reach up to about 2.5 cm and they are accented by slender well-defined quartz crystals 5.9 cm long. These are nicely perched atop the Siderite cluster. A superb specimen with great aesthetic impact.
