Description

An exceptional Baryte specimen from Mansfeld in the Harz Mountains. A relatively solitary dark olive-brown slender Baryte crystal up to 4 cm in lenght on typical matrix. The crystal is well developed, sharp-edged and excellently terminated. At first glance I thought the crystal was repaired but upon closer inspection of the crack under the microscope I am inclined to say that this is not the case. The specimen comes with an old label of the Loorz collection.
