Description
A real and typical Harz classic of elongated, dark grey Gypsum cystals with colourless tips. Here we have superbly defined crystals, very sharp edged and excellent multifaced terminated. Selenite is not a rare mineral, but good old German specimens are quite uncommon and generally unavailable on the market. This one is truly impressive, not just for its size, but the glassy excellence of the crystals and with very few missing crystals, even though Selenite is notoriously soft and brittle. Such items came out during the active mining period. The mines were abandoned in 1990 and good items like that are still history.
