Description

We are looking at a quite exceptional Hessonite (a variety of the garnet species Grossular) from the Italian alpine locality Bellecombe in the Piedmontese Aosta Valley. A small cabinet sized specimen richly studded with orange brown Hessonite crystals up to 3 mm. The crystals, perched on matrix typical for the locality are colorful and gemmy-translucent.
