Description

By international standards, this Fluorite on Hematite specimen is rather irrelevant. However, from the Tuscan Island of Elba, or to be precise, from the Valle Giove Quarry near Rio Marina, which was closed in 1981, it is probably a top specimen. A whitish, 1.5 cm measuring cluster of cubed Fluorite crystals with a matt luster is perched on bladed, black metallic Hematite. Definitely a great locality piece from the collection of the well-traveled collector Dr. Manfred Schönfelder, who was able to salvage this piece while the deposit was still actively mined.
