Description
This is a classic specimen from a major German Potash mine that closed for good in 1973: two rare minerals species cast in resin, commonly handed out as mementos from the Salzdetfurth AG a chemical company that merged with BASF in 1971. Besides the historic significance of the specimen, it also has mineralogical relevance. Whitish glassy layers of Szaibelyite, a Magnesium Borate associated with light purple Kainite a Potassium-Magnesium Sulfate.
