Description
This is an absolute German classic: Rhodochrosite from the Louise Mine near Horhausen, a small town in the Westerwald. Called Raspberry Spar due to its light raspberry red color and its habit that resembles the berry. The crystals are to 4 mm tall and perched on typical matrix from this former Iron mine. The mine shut down on 1930, hence these specimens are extremely difficult to get. It comes with an old label from the collection Loorz, Bockswiese.
