Description
A very excellent specimen with delicate white-bluish-green, chisel-shaped Barite crystals to 4 cm from a find at the end of the 1990s. The terminations are undamaged, and the prism faces with an adamantine luster appear “perforated” but consist of small, (epitaxial?) chisel-shaped crystals. An incredibly perfect specimen from La Union that can be displayed 360°. The rich mines of La Union provided were worked since prehistoric time for Silver, Lead, Iron ore and Zinc. Recent research shows that most of the Silver and Lead (for water pipes made of Lead!) for the Late Roman Republic was mined there.
