Description
This is a nice specimen of a pseudomorph of Goethite (and/or Limonite) after Pyrite. This piece is dark brown with a dull metallic luster that shows the striations on the cube faces of the predecessor mineral Pyrite. Pristine and perfect all around, and you have the choice of six ways to display the specimen. The actual locality for these specimens is a dump near a marble quarry ca. 8 km northwest of Carratraca, a town in an depleted and abandoned Iron ore district.
